Our favorite things to do in Vero: for families

Hunt for treasure, beach glass and seashells along our 25 miles of pristine beaches (keep your eyes peeled for bottle nose dolphin sightings!)
Visit the City Marina to uncover the most unusual boat name and furthest home port (how do the boats from New Mexico get there?!) then catch a killer sunset over the Indian River or a dazzling sunrise along the ocean.
Indulge in a mother and daughter pedicure at Tootsie’s on Ocean Drive.
Hit Riverside Park: Tour The Museum of Art, catch a play at Anne Morton’s children’s theater, play a game of tennis or tour one of the many art, car or boat shows!
Rent a kayak from Adventure Kayaks and take a moonlight paddle along the Indian River with a pit stop on a spoil island for a picnic dinner – bring a flashlight and bug spray! Another great spot for biking, kayak or hiking adventures is Round Island State Park, ocean and river sides, located on South A1A just before the county line.
Check out surfers hanging ten on a windy day at Sebastian Inset State Park then play in the gorgeous mosaic floor water fountains at the end of Royal Palm Pointe!
Indulge in the Red Onion’s crispy grouper Rueben and homemade potato chips topped off with a scoop from Boardwalk Ice Cream while strolling the boardwalk.
Buy a kite from Corey’s Pharmacy then fly it on the beach or at Jaycee or Humiston oceanfront parks. Ride the swings and admire the view while you’re at it!
Test your fitness along the fitness trails at Riverside Park then honor our Veterans by touring along Riverside Park’s Memorial Island.
Search for manatees at the viewing station at the canal located beside the turquoise power plant on Indian River Boulevard or the Manatee Center in Ft. Pierce.
Lose yourself in the children’s building of the world famous Vero Beach Book Center. Look for Out of the Ocean by Vero author Debra Frasier!
Play in the kid-friendly fountains at Royal Palm Pointe and admire the gorgeous mosaics that portray our diverse wildlife.
Play a round of mini golf at Safari Golf & Games on Oslo Road then visit the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum to learn why our region is called The Treasure Coast!

Buy the wildest Lilly Pulitzer pants you can at the Lazy Daisy on the Azalea Lane.
Have a cosmopolitan at the famed Ocean Grill and wonder how Vero pioneer Waldo Sexton constructed this landmark!
Tour the Indian River Lagoon on a private boat complete with tour guide.
